Count and Moonie known as L.E.P. (Low End Professionals) are a Chicago-based duo, recently signed by Sony A&R Anton Marchand (Foxy Brown's brother) after hearing their mixtape. L.E.P. sits down with Epydemik and briefs us on the streets of Chi-Town. Count describes his stomping grounds as "gang-affiliated, gang-oriented, and gang organized." Moonie identifies "gang-banging" in his neighborhood through the history of slavery in Chicago by recognizing the correlation between segregation and the need for a group of individuals who share a common identity and similar struggles. We can only begin to unravel the cultural manifestation of gangs. |
