Eminem is back with another album, the follow-up to his hit album “Relapse.” Marshall Mather’s dropped Recovery this Tuesday with high expectations. Not sure if a lot of people caught the hint in “Relapse” in a skit in which Eminem says that he’s dropping off two albums to his manager, one of them being the Relapse and the other one a mystery. Following Relapse Eminem jumped on the “Forever” track with Drake, Lil Wayne and Kanye West, which Eminem dropped a SICK verse to show people that he is still no one to mess with. The track was dropped with a couple of songs in the Relapse Refill mixtape. That aside Recovery has fans hyped for what Eminem has to say. Even so the LP leaked a couple of days before its original date, people were excited to see that he did not disappoint. I myself did not buy the leaked album, I waited until Tuesday to get a copy of it. Eminem is known for his witty lyrics and his outstanding way of expressing himself and does a great job on this album.

Eminem released “Not Afraid” as the first single from Recovery as well as made a music video for it. Some Hockey fans might have caught the track during the Stanley Cup Finals this year in a commercial promoting the series. Recovery features artist such as Lil Wayne, Pink, and Rihanna. Two of the hottest artist in the game (Wayne and Eminem) on another track makes “No Love” a must hear. It features a sample from Haddaway’s “What is Love”, most people have heard this song if they watched “Night at the Roxbury,””What is love baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me.” Any who, Wayne starts off the song with his punchlines which start off kind of slow but picks up and Em just kills it, Plain and simple. Another song off the album titled “Talking 2 Myself” which is a very strong song, in the song he mentions about making a diss track about Lil Wayne and Kanye West:

"Hatred was flowing through my veins
On the verge of going insane
I almost made a song dissin Lil Wayne
It's like I was jealous of him cause the attention he was gettin'
I felt horrible about myself
He was spittin and I wasn't
Anyone who was buzzin back then coulda got it
Almost went at Kanye too
God it feels like I'm goin' psychotic
Thank god that I didn't do it
I would of had my ass handed to me”

The track with Pink is called “Wont Back Down” which has a heavy rock theme beat that is kind of the song you listen to get hyped up to and Pink jumps on the chorus and lays it down! The track with Rihanna is a hot track, “Love The Way You Lie” has Rihanna on a dope chorus and Em drops a few verses about relationships and tries to relate to everyone who has been in that bad kind of situation. Em drops sick verses on the entire album and makes it a great one to have on repeat. Anyone who likes Eminem or hip-hop should definitely check it out! Recovery in stores now.

EM is looking at life in a new light, which I can respect, but this isn't one of my favorite EM CD's. When Em was angry on his first couple CD's and he had serious issues in his personal life and his image with the media, his flow was amazing. His anger was felt and he spit some of the realest bars. He had pain behind his music, and that pain was evident in every song. You could relate and you could believe. I believe music is better when the rapper has a REASON for thier music, not just entertainment. A lot of rappers fall off because they no longer live in the fear of losing it all, or having the pressure of media painting false images. EM had that in his career, and he was pouring his heart out on his beats.
