Chiground.com's Ahkyba Griffith got a chance to speak with up and coming Chi-town artist Henny Ho$$e about his upcoming project:

AG: Who were your influences coming up?

HH: I’ve been rapping and everything since I was about 8. My favorite rapper right now is Fabolous, I also like Jadakiss, Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, you know just them cats…Biggie. I listen to a lot of music you know but them names stick out.

AG: What do you feel about the state of Hip-Hop right now? Chicago in particular?

HH: I wanna give a shout out to the guys from the Chi that’s holding it down like Twista, Common, Lupe and Kanye. You know guys in the Midwest aren't recognized for lyrics like we should. I’m trying to help bring some of that lyrical content back to the Midwest. I think the state of hip-hop is really getting back into lyrical rap. Rick Ross just released Teflon Don which is a classic and you got J-Cole and Currency. You got the other lanes, guys like Soldier Boy and Gucci Mane that make good music.

AG: Speak a little more about the Exodus?

HH: Yea, the Exodus put together Mixtape Monday’s where the artists can come out perform locally. It’s a real positive scene, all of the artists there did their thing and supported each other as well and it's not guys up there hating…real positive.

AG: What can you tell us about the anticipated No More Talking mixtape, what new projects you have in the works and where people can catch it at?

HH: I’m actually part of Bang it Out Music group. I’m the producer, CEO and founder. P-Scrills, who is real serious on the production side. Right now we’re releasing No More Talking this August. I’m going to be on more projects but I think No More Talking is that mixtape that’s gonna catch the ears of the people.
